OK, small and nick-picky but: How about changing the link text on the quicknote console to something more user friendly? Change the next link to... "Check for new quicknotes", and the main link to "Zone BBS Home", the latter to preserve continuity with the link that's on the regular Zone BBS pages.
pssh. I thought that the links we had now for the quicknote console were pretty straightforward? What do the rest of you users think?
I'll admit "Main" confused me a bit when I first used the console, but "next" doesn't because your telling it, search until you find the "next" note and then stop so I can read the blasted thing, but "main" you don't see anywhere else, or nowhere I've been anyways, so, can get a bit confusing.

anyone who wants to change it, really must not understand a simple link. I like it a lot just the way it is!
I really hadn't noticed any next or anything, but I only used it to read quicknotes, and wasn't searching for anything else. Seems fine to me, but then I don't use quick notes that much.

alright people, thanks for your replies. I'll keep checking this topic from time to time, so, keep posting, those of you who haven't posted, on whether or not you want us to change it, but I don't think we'll do any modifications to it as of yet, unless we get more people asking us to modify the links so that they could understand them easier.
I think it's fine the way it is at the moment.
In my view, the Quicknote console is perfectly fine as is. Once one figures it out, which should take under a minute, it is an indispensible feature. Thanks for inventing it!

I love it when I do have quicknotes on, because it's good for anyone who doesn't want to arrow through the other stuff to get to them. I'm one of those people who are focussed, and when I'm talking to someone, I don't do anything else while I'm in quicknotes. I'm a single task sort of a person, now, if I could find someone else who is like minded with me, we could have a qn console good time, but unfortunately, I'm almost the only one on here who doesn't care for multitasking too much, especially when having a conversation.

Here's what I think. If you want to change it, change main to home, but otherwise it makes perfect sense. Maybe change next to search, but other than that, it makes perfect sense.

I would understand both, so I don't mind. I mean nothing wrong with continuity, but on the other hand, of course i ag ree with Maddog that the link names are straight forward and don't leave any doubts of what they could be.

Personally, I quit using quicknote console. I found I was missing messages. I don't see its usefulness.
Oh no I quite like it, but I don't think it's worth changing the links.
I never use it either, as I don't get what exactly it's for. It always opens in the same window anyway, so I'd rather just read my QN's on the same screen while I'm doing whatever else I'm doing on the Zone.

I see the point of it - you can be doing things in other applications and be alerted when you receive a qn. But the few times I have done that I might get a couple qn's and then they stop. When I get out of console and go to main page, I find out I have been missing qn's and possibly even pissed someone off by not responding to a qn from them, when, in fact, I didn't get it.
In my opinion, it's so you could be doing other things on here while reading QN's, but now that Buckeye Cat explained it, I get why it makes sense that it doesn't. Ah well, I don't use it anyway; I guess it would mainly be good for people who have Public QN's on or who chat a lot on QN's, which I rarely do anyway.
I never have missed any notes by going to the console. That's odd ...
I really dont' se the point in changing the quicknote consul thing. It seems pretty self explanatory to me.
